Harddrive Gone Bad!

Well, I got to have a “forced” break from blogging for a while there while trying to recover my harddrive.  I guess I could’ve gone to a library or internet cafe.  But, I did enjoy the break from technology, actually!  So, I admit I didn’t rush to a solution.  I would occasionally go to the office (where I do leasing for a property manager) to read email and approve comments once in a while.

The worst part was that I was writing a fun little book about my real estate experiences–and, I almost lost my work!  Yeah, I know, I know….  BACK EVERYTHING UP, right?!?!

I’ve got a new drive and am busily installing my stuff now.

    Trisha, glad your back!!!

The same thing happened to my Apple computer while installing the new operating system, lucky for me I had backed up the important files.

Thanks, Edgar! I think this has happened to me about 4 times since college–I should know better than to not back up my junk, huh? Oh, well, I was able to get it all back. Thank God!

A coworker yesterday was testing a script he wrote that would SSH into another system and recursively remove a couple of directories. Of course, when he put it to practice, it ended up removing the entire remote login directory. No backup, either. Ouch!
